CHARUCHARYA Part VIII

बन्धुसंबन्धिजनं दूषयेन्नापि वर्जयेत्‌ । दक्षयज्ञक्षयायाभूत्‌ त्रिनेत्रस्य विमानना ॥३१॥

 Na bandhu-sambandhijana dūayen nāpi varjayet |
Dak
a-yajña-kayāyābhūt trinetrasya vimānanā || 31 ||

Translation:
“One should neither insult nor exclude relatives and family members. The insult of the three-eyed Lord (Śiva) led to the destruction of Dak
as sacrifice.

Explanation:
Respect within family preserves harmony. Dak
a insulted his son-in-law Śiva and excluded him from the sacrifice. This humiliation caused the complete ruin of the yajña. Disrespect among relatives brings disastrous consequences.

ṛṣṇa.

Explanation:
Anger and abusive speech destroy relationships and life itself. Śiśupāla repeatedly insulted Lord K

“A wise person should not repeatedly trouble others by excessive demands for wealth. Though the ocean yielded horses, jewels, and Lak
mī, when churned it also produced poison.

Explanation:
Over-exploitation brings danger. The churning of the ocean produced many treasures but also deadly poison. Greed and constant demands disturb balance and create harm.

वक्रैः क्रूरतरैर्लुब्धैर्न कुर्यात्‌ प्रीतिसंगतिम्‌ । वसिष्ठस्याहरद्‌धेनुं विश्वामित्रो निमन्त्रितः ॥३५॥

Vakrai krūratarair lubdhair na kuryāt prīti-sagatim |
